I need some advice

There is a game called Amnesia The Dark Descent, it is a scary indie game and they say that i should be in a dark room and have headphones on for best effect, what else can i do to make it scarier?

Hmm not sure about the candle thing, i mean i want like total darkness except my computer. Amy Whinehouse might wor xDDDDD
