with minecraft 1.8 just around the corner, what will you be looking foward to in the update?
mine will be the new dungens and terrain genereation

1.8 will mean bukkit will be down for a while. This is like 1. whatever when weather came out (that sounded awkwardly poetic) and it took forever for bukkit to update. It will be like that, but worse.

Ya according to every forum I can find, the update will be either Saturday (today) or Sunday.

No it wont be tomorrow or today, pax is opening and its gonna be a little while til its out but if notch prooves me wrong then he does

Notch will distribute 1.8 to ppl in PAX and I belive if its not out for everyone this weekend it will be next weekend.

No. I get a text every time notch updates his twitter. He's currently at PAX, and will be returning to Sweden tomorrow night. He doesn't know why minecraft.net is down, but he says he can't do anything about it because he's at PAX. Also, he's distributing demos to people at PAX.
